Politics For All and My Voice in Politics (MVP) are two initiatives which originated during the CUBE January 2020 Ideas Camp. Following on from the Ideas Camp, we caught up with Clara, who is a part of Politics For All, and Janine & Quentin from, MWP to unpack more about these great initiatives

Can you tell us, about the Politics For All team and motivation:
We are a group of six students from Bavaria. We all come from different school systems but have one thing in common: our interest in politics. That is why we want to create politics as a new subject in school. As we see it, education and knowledge is the foundation for good living standards and participation of great importance for a working democracy.

How does the initiative work practically:
Our intention was to interest students in politics and therefore created a three-step system. Politics will be introduced in 8th grade, to help the students understand the general structure of the German election system and political parties.

In 10th grade the students will form groups to work on their own projects, which will then be discussed with politicians and forwarded to the ministry. Students can also have the opportunity to organise a junior election for younger students or other activities.

These courses will be non-obligatory for upper classes, but will be available to intensify the knowledge and work on their own projects.

What is your hope for Politics For All:
Through this we hope to encourage younger generations to grow up to be responsible and interested members of society.

My Voice in Politics (MVP) is a source of public opinion and reporting on political events in Bavaria. It is a government-independent news and opinion platform, and is a source of public opinion. The aim of MVP is to create a bridge between citizens and politics.

What happened since the CUBE 2020 Ideas workshop?
A lot has happened since this workshop. MVP now has its own Instagram account: MVP_Bayern. Regular meetings of the state parliament are reported and followers are encouraged to exchange ideas.

How can people be involved:
Behind MVP are 5 young people who are scattered throughout Bavaria and enthusiastically launched the project. Since our team is currently still very small, we are happy for everyone who would like to support us. Be it pupils, students or working people, everyone can take part. What is your motivation:
Our motivation: to give youth a voice and not lose contact with politics, that’s what MVP stands for as a source of public opinion.
